Born and raised in Alaska, James spent 7 years learning, growing and falling in love with Lighting Design and Programming at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. During this time, James trained to fulfill his passion of being a Professional Lighting Designer. In 2022, He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in order to pursue that dream and make it a reality. James has since expanded his horizons by learning from every person he encountered with the passion and drive to improve. He has spent these past several years working with the Aurora Theatre Group, Kennesaw State University, Emory University, with the Rubicon Studios labor company, Lighting Designer Ben Rawson and the Terminus Modern Ballet Company, and Gas South District.
Currently, as of 2026, James has contined to build and improve his Lighting Design and Programming skills with every project he has been a part of. During this endeavor, He is continuing his goal of working on every kind of Production imaginable, making the stage come to life before the audience.
